Our main aim is to provide with excellent carbonisation of wool staple, based on multi-phase process. The end product is perfectly clean and intact wool, with no remains of vegetable matter.

Carbonisation is the first process phase, and it consists of burning vegetable matters contained in wool by use of steam cells with a system of iron rods and coal powder. Cleaning is carried out shortly after, utilising five tanks with hydrogen peroxide and detergent, so to whitewash and finalise the product. Our wool is then squeezed and carefully centrifuged, and finally dried with high temperature steam, so it is suitable for daily use and resistant to washing. Necessary production water is exclusively sourced from the nearby river Bisenzio, allowing more sustainability and eco-friendliness.

Moreover, our process was improved in 1997 with an in-house designed machinery made in collaboration with Woolmark Company, which was later patented. This technology is a great innovation in the anti-shrinking treatment of wool staple. Also thanks to our sister company Carbotec, we are able to provide with highest standards and uniformity in treatment of wool colour and texture. This allows us to treat multiple end-uses of wool, such as wool for the fashion industry, wool fur, and wool for mattress production.
